A Rainy Afternoon at Home

Yesterday, it started to rain heavily, so we stayed inside the house. My sister walked into the living room with some books to read. The dog stayed near us, lying on the carpet. We talked about the color of the sky, which looked dark and cloudy. Suddenly, the cat jumped off the couch and ran onto the windowsill to watch the rain.

My brother decided to go out for some fresh air. He opened the door and stood outside on the porch. The rain was pouring over the garden, and we could see small puddles forming. From the window, we saw cars driving past our street. It had been raining since early in the morning.

We decided to play a game together. My sister brought a board game, and we placed it on the table. We moved the pieces through the board, laughing and enjoying ourselves. The rain continued throughout the afternoon, so we stayed cozy and warm.

Later, we looked to the sky, hoping for the rain to stop. It felt like the weather was moving toward the evening. When it got dark, we ate dinner under the soft light of the kitchen lamp. The dog found a spot underneath the table, waiting for someone to drop food.

We stayed up talking until bedtime. Before sleeping, my sister climbed up to her bunk bed, and I read a story upon my pillow. We talked with each other about our favorite parts of the day. Within an hour, everyone was asleep, dreaming peacefully.

Even though it was a rainy day, we had fun without leaving the house. Sometimes, days like this are just what we need. The laughter and memories stayed like a warm hug. And as we fell asleep, the sound of rain was as calming as a lullaby.
